As the fireplace season starts our state has been under serious threat. Our Hills District fire fighters have been requested to help in areas beneath menace in Tenterfield and Glenn Innes.
The Hills district has many hearth fighters on their means for deployment throughout the Mid North Coast on part forty four wildfires and there will be more deployments throughout this unstable fire season.

More than 20 members of the Hills District RFS have been recognised for their dedication and achievements at a particular ceremony held on the Dural Country Club.
Commissioner of the RFS Rob Rogers joined the Hills District Manager Superintendent Glen McCartney to present three National Emergency Medals, 1 Humanitarian Overseas Service Medal, thirteen National Medals and 5 Long Service Medals to the members on the ceremony.
Kenthurst News at The Fire Station is awarded to persons who rendered sustained or important service during nationally vital emergencies in Australia, together with the 2019-2020 bush fires.
The commissioner mentioned “Members of The Hills District have always answered the decision, not only aiding with incidents locally but additionally to communities in need across the state.”
Kenthurst RFS proudly honours two extraordinary members of our staff, Sue Talbert and Anthony Papallo for their distinctive dedication and service.
Sue has been awarded her 2nd Clasp for the National Medal, marking over 35 years of service.
Anthony has earned his 10-year Long Service Medal.

The NSW Rural Fire Service (NSW RFS) is the world’s largest volunteer hearth service, made up of more than 70,000 devoted volunteers right across NSW.
NSW RFS volunteers are ready to answer emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days every week, all year round, attending a variety of incidents from bush and grass fires to deal with and structure fires, street accidents and aiding at other occasions like floods, storms, and searches.
Volunteering with the NSW RFS provides you the chance to learn new and valuable skills that received't solely help you in your voluntary position but in day-to-day life and even your workplace. It can also be an opportunity to fulfill people you wouldn’t normally meet.
For many of our members, it’s also about being part of a beautiful tradition and an organisation with a very proud history.
